Our In-Home Dog Training program is the right solution for your dog!

You may not always know what triggers unwanted behavior from your dog, but with the training protocol used by Camelot Dog Training, which begins with in-home dog training, in your dog’s environment, you can have the tools to overcome anything.

Why In-Home Training?

This private, in-home method is the most effective, as opposed to generalized group classes or the Board and Train technique, because many behavioral issues can be influenced by your dog’s environment. These details are disregarded otherwise, but must be considered in order to provide effective dog training for a lasting change in behavior.  Once you and your dog have established a new, solid, foundation of communication and trust, the training moves to a public setting where these behaviors are reinforced around distractions and behavioral triggers.

How Does it Work?

The first step to our In-Home Dog Training program always begins with a comprehensive behavior consultation where our trainer will visit your home for to meet your dog, assess his/her behavior, and discuss at length any issues you are having, as well as your long-term goals. Once we assess all factors that contribute to your dog’s behavior we will develop a training program, tailored to your and your dog, that will teach you how to guide your dog toward the desired behavior.  Yes, YOU are the key to managing your dog’s behavior. We teach you how to interact with your dog and handle them in any situation while creating an unbreakable bond.

If your dog has issues with aggression, anxiety, excessive barking or chewing, nervousness or hyperactivity, our dog trainers can help. Our dog trainer, Tom Porier will travel to any part of Connecticut- Litchfield, Hartford, Tolland, Windham, Fairfield, New Haven, Middlesex or New London County– and teach you and your dog how to communicate with each other properly and create lasting behavior changes for your dog.
